We are celebrating the graduation of 20 incredible young leaders who have grown up with GOALS.
Each of these graduates joined us as children and have spent an average of eight years participating daily in our programs. Through football, leadership, literacy, environmental action, and service, they’ve built skills and confidence, purpose, and a deep commitment to their communities.
“GOALS really supported me in getting ready for my future with inspiring leadership training.” — Edmilson
Growing Up with GOALS
For most of these graduates, GOALS has been a second home. “GOALS taught me how to plant and care for trees,” shared Acheley, who spent 12 years in the program. “I’m going to use the knowledge I gained to make a small business.”
Others, like Kenson, expressed gratitude for education support:
“GOALS really supported me a lot, especially with my education, they even paid for my schooling! I truly appreciate their help in making my educational dreams possible.”
More Than a Game
While every graduate said football was their favorite part of GOALS, it was far from the only thing that shaped them. 72% said leadership workshops had a strong impact, 61% highlighted environmental initiatives and community service, and every single graduate credited GOALS with helping them feel more hopeful about their future.
“Respect and discipline are the secrets to success,” said John, who served as a team captain. “GOALS, please continue nurturing the children with the valuable education you’re providing.”
Becoming the Next Generation of Leaders
These graduates are not saying goodbye, they are stepping forward. Nearly three-quarters of graduates’ plan to become GOALS coaches or community leaders, continuing the cycle of mentorship and impact that defines our work.
“Work hard during your time at GOALS so you can give back to the community in the future.” — Danedji
Their pride and gratitude shine through every reflection:
“Over these 8 years with GOALS, I’ve truly enjoyed the trainings and workshops, and I’ve become a skilled soccer player. The support has been incredible.” — Marie
These graduates represent what long-term, Haitian-led youth development can achieve. They are proof that when young people have a safe field, a caring team, and consistent opportunities to grow, they carry those lessons far beyond the sidelines.
“For me, ‘thank you’ isn’t enough to express my feelings,” shared Mondy “There’s such an immense joy in my heart.”
